The problem is, how is every student going to be able to afford a $500 device. When parents fight against buying $100 shoes, how are real students going to afford these new wonderful textbooks? Where I grew up, only about 10 out of 300 families would be able to afford this. If they are supplied by the schools, wonderful, but its hard to see what in reality, especially where I went to school.
All in all, if they can pull this off, price-wise to make it available to under-income families, then win-win. If not, shame, schools ( cough* Universities) already make it easier for families with money, I’d hate to see that atmosphere applied to grade school levels.
