The Silent Giants / Interview →
Accidentally stumbled upon this today. Some of my favorite artists from Michigan. But this is remarkably a really good interview. Kudos to Metro Times. I own several of their prints, still in the tubes sadly until I can afford frames. :)

Why Good Type Matters, . . . →
Finding these articles online are getting really exciting. No longer do you need to fork out $15 for a design magazine, some of the amazing designers on the web are sharing their thoughts, for free.
This article showcases their actual presentation slides with several links to look into with in it. Make sure you check out the slides. Perhaps ask yourself those questions. Print them out, ask your...

AVA HEGEDUS INTERVIEWS JASON LEIVIAN OF FLOATING... →
Ava asks “what are your notions about “selling out”?
“The worst of “selling out” is “buying in” which is more about the consumer’s world, where they are buying into what they are being sold and just accepting it without even really thinking about it.”
And then this next statement is at the heart of my thinking, since I feel as if a...

: GPS Drawing and Situationism →
Multidisciplinary artist Jeremy Wood has been making some interesting work using GPS devices to draw his routes on foot. Interestingly, for the Traverse Me map, Jeremy avoided using roads and paths as much as possible. It brings to mind one of the basic exercises of situationism. The idea is…
Agreed. I will try this, I think attention to discovery and adventure is key. Discovery and...
New FaceTime ads →
mrgan:
Apple is just knocking these out of the goddamn galaxy. Forget it, there’s no trick or cypher to it - no “products instead of users”, no “emotion over technology”. Like Pixar’s movies, Apple’s ads are simply getting all of it right.
Skyler and I giving a shout out.

There’s a good story a friend of mine has a hard time telling. A few years ago she was asked to work on the website of a large, public institution, and they approached her to see if she could come up with something that would last the organization 2 to 3 years. The budget was $7,000 dollars. She scoffed at the budget, but saw the opportunity of the project, and managed to negotiate...

'I Don't' The case against marriage. →
I feel like this is a very touchy subject with the majority of people. I really don’t understand why, perhaps the traditional seriousness of the word “marriage” the last 100+ years has drilled into our head. I am open on the subject.
First my views might be radical, or simply just the “other” perspective, or even perhaps I don’t have an opinion since I...

Warped Tour 2010: Dallas, TX. (really good review) →
I has to reblog this article on this year’s Warped Tour for several reasons. I really think this is well written, but still keeping the authors distinct personality in the piece. The reason this is a bigger deal to me is: I don’t read music reviews. I don’t. I think they are utterly useless. The majority of the time, they are poorly written and completely bias without taking the...
